Student Writer / Tinkerer
iFixit is extremely well known within the technical community for our concise, well-illustrated, relevant technical documentation and cheeky new product disassemblies. We’re dramatically expanding our free online step-by-step repair guides and troubleshooting manuals. We are looking for writers to spearhead our effort to help people all over the world fix their broken gadgets. Our existing guides have been viewed by over a million people, and are an invaluable resource to the Mac community. Your writing will make the world a better place by helping people all over the world repair their devices.
We are looking for someone who has a passion for succinct communication, loves to take things apart, and fixes all their friends' stuff.
You should:- Enjoy tinkering!
- Have impeccable grammar.
- Have editing experience, and enjoy correcting tpyos and errors of the grammar.
- Have a sense of humor.
Multiple openings available. This position is part-time during school and full-time during summer at our San Luis Obispo office (next to campus). Apple industry experience is not necessary.
Software Developer Internships
We're looking for programming interns at our Central Coast location. (Part-time jobs are also available immediately.) You'll be developing innovative, cutting edge AJAX-based highly-scalable web applications. Only *good* coders need apply. We code in PHP, but we're primarily looking for Javascript, XHTML, SQL, CSS, and UNIX skills.
Working for a small company on a tight-knit team is a chance to manifest your creativity in a way that will make a big difference in the final product. This will be a challenging job. If you want to work your butt off and make something good, please apply.
